Service Charter Window, Ministry of Education, Lagos



The Service Charter Window of Block 5 (shared by the Ministries of Education and Agriculture), the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja was commissioned on 9th, May 2013. 

The service charter initiative is the brain child of His Excellency, Governor of Lagos State, Barrister Babatunde Raji Fashola who has the vision of transforming the state public service to a result- driven organization that delivers on the Government’s social contract with the people.

The service charter aims to achieve the following:

  • Attend to customers promptly in a polite and friendly manner

  • Equal treatment to all customers

  • Delivery of good, quality service to customers

  • Give customers all information about services available through their offices

  • Establish a system that ensures feedback incase customers are not satisfied with any service

  • Consulting customers from time to time to determine satisfaction with government services

Analyzing the objectives which the service charter aims to achieve, one discovers its many benefits:

  1. It ensures effective and efficient management of two-way-communication
  2. It makes service producers to be accountable 
  3. Through the feedback from customers service is thus improve
  4. It gives confidence to customers with the realization that they have right to complain
  5. Stakeholders’ participation is increased
