Amidat Sanni charged Lagos Muslim Youths to be security conscious

The Lagos State Ministry of Education organised a Special Jumat Service  as part of activities to celebrate the year 2013 Children’s Day. The event was held at the Secretariat Mosque Hall, Alausa, Ikeja.
Different events were held to make the day memorable, the major one being a paper delivered by Alhaja Amidat Sanni, Deputy Director, Lagos State Education District II. The topic of the paper was “Building Security Consciousness Among Muslim Youth in a larger Society”. She advised students to be security conscious at all time to save them from danger. She listed the tips below which according to her are valuable in preventing danger rather than striving to get out of one:

·         Beware of wrong aqeedah
·         Avoid cyber crimes
·         Avoid bad strangers
·         Never belong to groups with inner/ ulterior motives
·         Mind the way you use the social media as you may be defrauded or lured to join evil gang
·         Never give out sensitive tips or information through phone conversation which could make you vulnerable to armed robbery attacks
·         Don’t put on provocative dresses
·         Keep away from lonely route
·         Don’t give out your travelling schedule
·         Stay clear of secrete societies and don’t make friend with them
·         Keep off from unattended luggage
·         Don’t pick things along the road
·         Don’t keep late nights
·         Pray for Allah’s protection always
·         Share information with adults, police and security agents
