Lagos begins registration into Nursery/ Primary one

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board has commenced registration of children into Nursery/Primary School one for the year 2013/2014 Academic Session. The exercise actually began on 27th, May 2013 with a symbolic registration performed by His Excellence, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, Governor of Lagos State at the Parade Ground, Police College, Ikeja on Children’s Day. It will continue from 9 a.m. -6 p.m. daily.

It is worthy of note that the exercise is going on in all the divisions of Lagos State and will end on 15th, July 2013. The release specifies the minimum registration age for primary one as six years while the minimum registration age into Nursery one is three years.

Application forms can be obtained from Head- Teachers of all public Primary/ Nursery Schools in the State. It is advised that parents and guardians should ensure that children are registered nearest their homes. 
 
The completed application forms which must be accompanied with three passport- sized photographs and birth certificate of the child should be returned to the Head- Teacher of the School from where the forms are collected.

It should be emphasized here that there will not be late registration!

Also, parents should guide against multiple registration.
