2013 Festival of Choral and Classical Music

Yeboah Rasford representing Education District I and competitors from Education District IV have emerged overall winners in this year's Festival of Choral and Classical Music competitions in the Solo and Ochestra categories respectively. The event was organised by Lagos State Ministry of Education as part of activities lined up to celebrate the year 2013  Children's Day among public schools in the State.
 In the Solo category, the first runner up was Igwedike Chisom representing District III while Oladimeji Odunayo from Education District VI came third. In the Orchestra category, Education District I and II came second and third respectively.
Top officials in the Ministry of Education and stakeholders in the education sector graced the occasion which was held at the Main Auditorium,  Adeyemi Bero Hall, The Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
Apart from the competitors, students from Caleb International College, Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls, C.M.S. Grammar School and Good Shepherd Private School, all in Lagos and Christ Redeemer's College, Sagamu, Ogun State entertained the audience with beautiful renditions.
Guests at the event were also treated to a grand performance by the popular saxophonist, Niyi Olaewe who thrilled everyone with his skilful dance steps and blowing power. He was so superb and hilarious and the audience could not hold it as they took to the dance floor to do what they enjoyed doing- Dance! Dance!! Dance!!!
Earlier on, the Lagos State Choral Group welcomed everyone with a beautiful welcome song.
