Entrance Examination into Lagos State Government Technical Colleges

This is to inform interested candidates that the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB) is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into 3- year Full- Time Courses into Lagos State Government Technical Colleges.

 
Candidates are required to possess one of the following qualifications:


  •  A minimum of Junior Secondary School Certificate (JSSC) or equivalent such as S.75

  •  Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) or GCE (OL)

  •  Teacher’s Certificate Grade II (TC II)

  •  Candidates with higher qualifications but who have interest in Technical Education may also apply.

 The Board revealed that the following courses are available:
Engineering Trades

Agric Equipment and Implementation Mechanic
Motor vehicle mechanics
Electrical Installation and Maintenance Practice
Fabrication and Welding
Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice
Radio, Television and Electrical Works
Refrigeration & Air conditioning Works
Instrumentation Mechanic Works
Computer Craft Studies


Construction Trades:

Blocklaying & Concreting Works
Furniture Making
Printing and Decorating
Plumbing and & Pipe- fitting
Draughtsmanship
Miscellaneous Trades
Garment Making
Catering Craft Practice
Leather and Footwear Craft
Printing Craft Practice
Graphics Arts


Business Trades:

Secretarial Studies
Book- Keeping


There are five Government Technical Colleges in Lagos, they are  Listed below:

  1. Government Technical College, Ado- Soba 
  2. Government Technical College, Agidingbi, Ikeja 
  3. Government Technical College, Odomola, Epe
  4.  Government Technical College, Ikorodu 
  5. Government Technical College, Ikotun

For the Application form, candidates are expected to contact one of the Colleges listed above or Room 503, 5th Floor, Ministry of Education, Lagos State. Better still, you can contact Lagos State Technical  and Vocational Education Board at Old Secretariat, Oba Akinjobi Road, GRA, Ikeja.

It is pertinent to note that the examination has been re-scheduled to hold on 30th, September 2014. The new arrangement has automatically affected the interview dates and the sale of application forms
The forms can still be obtained and I promise to inform you on the new dates for interview.

Equally important for interested candidates is the mode of the examination which will be in two parts, namely:

Paper I, comprising English and General Paper while
Paper II has Mathematics only.
