Public and Private Schools in Lagos State Resume on Monday 19th, September- DG
The year 2016/2017 Academic session will commence in Lagos State's public and private schools on Monday, 19th September, 2016.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule who made this known recently in her Eid-l-Kabir message to stakeholders in education sector said classes will start running from the resumption date as there would be no time to waste.
She commended teachers in the state for their dedication to duty which according to her manifest in the results of the various external examinations and competitions that the students participated in. She noted that the result of the last West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE) was a clear departure from the past and it was commendable.
Adebule urged both teaching and non teaching staff of public schools in the state to report at their duty posts promptly as officers of the Education Quality Assurance have been directed to monitor strict compliance, adding that any one found wanting would be sanctioned appropriately.
The Deputy Governor also urged parents to ensure that their children and wards resume on the said date even as the State Government has completed arrangements for all public schools in the state to commence academic exercise without hitches. She however warned that erring pupils and students would be duly dealt with.

Mrs. Florence Ebunoluwa Oluwasuji is now the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Education District V. She replaced Mrs. Taiwo Iji who retired recently.

of candidates will be done through customized CD which will be issued by Lagos
State Examinations Board (L. S. E. B.) on payment of N10, 000. 00 (Ten thousand
naira) per candidate, payable into any branch of the following approved banks:

Let me quickly add that the
screening test will be in two versions, candidates have the option of choosing
between the following:
Computer Based Test (C.B.T.) - This will hold at the I.C.T. Centre of the State
Examinations Board, Agege.
Pencil Based Test (P.B.T.) - The usual pencil and computer answer sheets.
The examination is slated for Saturday,
14th May 2016 at 10.00am at the
various designated centres.
Sharp-sharp Procedure
- N10, 000.00 paid into any of the above accounts
- Take the teller to the Lagos State Examinations Board and collect a CD
- Complete the registration on the CD and return the CD to the Examination Board

It is important to note that without
the screening test, no pupil shall be admitted into any of the colleges.
This is to remind the general public that there is no transfer of students into any of the Model Colleges/Upgraded Schools in the State. The only means through which students are admitted into the schools is by writing the yearly screening test into JSS One.

New Permanent Secretary, Ministry Of Education, Lagos
The Lagos State Ministry of Education has a new Permanent Secretary; she is Mrs. Elizabeth Olabisi Ariyo.
Also, the Tutors General/Permanent Secretaries Education Districts I & VI are Dr. Mrs. Ayandele Olufolayimika Abiose and Mrs.
Anifowoshe Amidat Abiola.
They were among the nineteen Permanent Secretaries appointed by the Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode with effect from 3rd August, 2015.
Mrs. Folushade Omolora Erogbogbo, Mrs. Ogunfidodo and Mrs. Iyabo Osifeso have retired as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education,Tutors General/Permanent Secretaries Education District I & VI respectively. Posted on 26/8/2015
