The School Based Management Committee (SBMC) are established by government to act as a bridge between Schools and the communities they serve. They work to increase communities’ involvement in education, and to help improve the quality and effectiveness of Schools.
They
provide a way of helping the education authorities to listen to what adults and
children want from Schools and a way of increasing the contributions of
everyone in the local area to making education work well.
It is designed to meet the priorities of parents,
children, communities, schools, local authorities and the state government for
improving and expanding good quality basic education.
