Administration of bursary and scholarship awards to
qualified indigenes of the State on both foreign and local academic programmes.
Establish links with the Federal Government on
issues relating to scholarship for the benefits of undergraduates and post graduate
indigenes of the State.
It should be noted that exceptional students who
perform excellently in their academic studies are awarded scholarship both
nationally and internationally while indigenes in local Institutions of Higher
learning are given bursaries.
Other functions of the Board
Advises the Government on scholarship and bursary
maters through the Special Adviser on Education.
Organizes interviews for those applying for
bursaries and scholarship and make recommendations to the Government for approval.
On approval, the Board effects payments to
successful applicants.
