Falsification of Age by Primary School Teachers in Edo State

Governor Adams Oshiomole

It has been discovered through an audit carried out by the Edo State Information and Communication Technology that some primary school teachers in the state falsified their age and this according to the Governor was on a large scale.

For instance, "789 teachers out of 1,379 obtained their Primary School Leaving Certificates before the age of eight or nine while few who were particularly gifted finished primary school before they were born." The Governor remarked.

It was also revealed that only 9 percent of the teachers had proper and accurate records.
