ELETU ODIBO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL EMERGE CHAMPION OF 2013 BRF QUIZ



Lawal Oluwaseun and Igbokwe Daniel of Eletu Odibo Senior High School, Yaba, Lagos have emerged Champions of the 2013 edition of the Brighter Rewarding Future (BRF) Quiz competition organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Education. The event which was held on Wednesday, 10th July, 2013 at The Blue Roof, LTV Complex,  Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja was keenly contested. The duo beat Olabamise Daniel and Longe Temitope of Sanmori Senior Comprehensive High School, Agege with 28 points to secure number one position while Arch Deacon Adelaja Memorial Senior Secondary School, Bariga came third.
 
In the Junior Secondary School category, Adepoju Marvelous and Solarin Sodiq of Lagos State Junior Model College, Kankon came first, beating Odo Obara Junior High School, Epe to the second position. Vetland Junior Grammar School, Ifako-Ijaye clinched the third position.

Aminu Rahmat and Ajibola Ayomide of Ansar-ud-Deen Nursery and Primary School, Ebute Metta beat Our Lady of Fatimo Nursery and Primary School, Mushin to clinch the first position while Ayininuola Olaoluwa and Ugbe Faith of Idera Nursery and Primary School, Kosofe came third at the preliminaries.

In the Individual best (Mathematics) category, Omolara Owolabi of King Ado Senior High School beat three others with 9 points to occupy the first position.

The competition was attended by dignitaries including His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola who was ably represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye, former Commissioner for Education and Health in Lagos State, Dr. Leke Pitan, Tutor General/Permanent Secretaries of Education Districts I, II, V, VI and the acting TG/PS of District III, Directors and Head of Units in the Ministry of Education. There were also in attendance Corporate Organisations and Individuals and our tomorrow leaders. 

Winners in various categories were presented with Trophies and in addition, cash and material gifts were also given out.

In his keynote address, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola through the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye said that the Babatunde Raji Fashola administration is committed to the improvement of education in the State and making it accessible to all pupils irrespective of their background. The BRF Quiz competition according to him, is a tool which the administration uses to develop minds of our future leaders to make them competent, effective and responsible with brighter rewarding future in both Public and Private sectors.  

He congratulated winners in the various categories asking them to keep up the good work, he however advised those who did not win to buckle up and that there is always another time for them to try again. He appreciated the sponsors and other partners of the education sector while commending the teachers for a job well done.
