Deputy Governor, Lagos State Suggests compulsory free education for all children across all levels

The deputy Governor of Lagos State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope Adefulire has advocated compulsory free education for all children across all levels.

She disclosed this at a press conference organized to commemorate the 2014 Day of the African Child.

“There is the need to increase the funding of the education sector to address the challenge of providing qualitative and education compulsory basic education for all children of school age in the country irrespective of sex, ethnic background and social status.

"It is also important to give our children the voice to be heard; to enable them discuss their problems and seek for direction and to be able to confide in us as parents. In all programmes and policies affecting the children, government needs to seek their inputs and suggestions, as provided in the Child Rights Law,” she stated.
