WAEC releases May/June 2013 Secondary School Certificate Examination Results



At a News conference in Lagos on Wednesday, The Head of National Office (HNO) of WAEC, Dr Charles Eguridu, announced the results of the May/June 2013 Secondary School Certificate Examination Results.

According to Eguridu, 889,636 candidates obtained six credits and above while 1,074,065 obtained five credits and above.

 He stated that the results of 145,505 were being processed due to some errors which he said are traceable to the candidates as well as their schools in the course of registration or writing the examination. He however explained that such errors were being corrected by the council to enable the affected candidates get their results fully processed and released subsequently.

Eguridu revealed that results of 2,176 candidates were cancelled by the body due to multiple entries while the results of 112,865 candidates were withheld due to examination malpractices.

Eguridu also said that 117 blind candidates attempted the exams out of the 121 that registered, 24 of them obtained five credits in five subjects including English Language.

He thanked the Federal government, security agencies and all stakeholders that contributed towards the success of the examination. He decried the murder of three of the council’s personnel by gunmen while on their way from Yola to Maiduguri.

He advised candidates to check their results online within 24 hours of the declaration,
