The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has been ranked as the best university in Nigeria and eighth in Africa.
A statement by the
university’s Public Relations Department said that the latest
“web-o-metric ranking was conducted by a world renowned research council,
Cybermetrics Lab, which is based in Spain.”
Signed by the
Head, PR Department, OAU, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju, the statement said the university
was ranked 14th best in Africa in the last rating done by the research council,
adding that it has however moved six steps up the ladder.
